Book
The book entitled as “Panoramic Views on
Manipuri Culture” is completed and edited with the objectives of propounding the
collective thought and views of some selected contributors who are widely
scholarly involved as feather of the same flock i.e. the Artistic world. The
contents of the book are mainly striving to unearth same of the innumerable
aesthetic values under streaming in the world of culture which itself is the
embodiment of the values of all facets of a society or nation. Elements of
cultural heritages are inherited gifts from generations to generations and the
basis of civilization. The Panoramic values of some selective culture are covered by the present
book.
About
the Editor
Dr.
Pukhrambam Lilabati Devi is presently working as
Assistant Professor Department of Dance & Music, Manipur University,
Canchipur. She has been awarded Ph.D. in Dance at Hyderabad Central University.
She has done her Master of Performing Arts (Dance) in Hyderabad Central
University and she has completed Post Diploma course in Raas from Jawaharlal
Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal and her Diploma and Post Diploma in Bharata
Natyam from Kalakshetra Foundation Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, Chennai.
She has also cleared U.G.C. Net and is awarded “A Grade” by Central Audition Board Prasar Bharti Broadcasting
Corporation of India (Doordarshan), New Delhi the field of Manipuri Dance in
2014.
She has successfully implemented a project
under the aegis of STRIDE-COMPONENT-I of the University Grants Commission
(UGC), in the Department of Dance and Music, Manipur University. She now works
as a Principal Investigator & Project Coordinator of the project.
She is an enthusiastic young artiste
struggling to explore the nuances of Manipuri and Bharata Natyam Indian dance
forms with academic insights. She firmly concludes that the goal of her life is
solely to discover dance, discover herself.
